The ISSA Yachtmaster Offshore is a course designed for candidates who have completed the ISSA Offshore Skipper course and have gained years of sailing experience (2800NM). The aim of the course is to increase the candidates’ nautical knowledge to competently take on the duties of an Offshore Skipper on board a multihull yacht – in daylight hours, at night, in busy sea lanes, or over 150NM offshore. YMO’s have a good understanding of sailing / boat handling, nautical terminology and safety at sea. This is a course for recreational and aspiring commercial skippers. Upon completion the students may be eligible to apply for commercial training at Nautical Colleges in Europe. This course is a very good starting point for a Career at Sea on Superyachts.

ISSA VHF Radio Course
VHF Radio is a very important safey net system that marine craft use every day. The basic vhf radio is now updated with a DSC VHF Radio that is able to send either analogue or digital radio transmissions. The VHF Radio Course is a yachts main safety system as it is possible to use in many situations that a mobile telephone would not! Consequently the radio is marinised (weather proofed) and thus rugged and reliable.
The course covers all aspects of use. Simple communications, professional channels, Channel 16, ship to ship channels and of course the Emergency and Urgency channel 16. Students learn to send messages that are normal and routine from yacht to yacht ,right thru to sending Mayday Relays, to other vessels, or coastguards. The VHF radio course is assessed by a one hour exam and by a course handbook with assessments and exercises.
COURSE AVAILABILTY: This course is 1 day in duration – the VHF Radio course is run on 5th and the 19th of every month. Private courses may be arranged by mutual agreement.

Inshore Skipper – ISSA Multihull Yacht Course
The Inshore Skipper ISSA Multihull course is a 10 day course that includes VHF Radio, Inshore Skipper 1 and Inshore Skipper 2. We generally run this ten day course after students have done their ISSA Yacht Crew Course (4 days). We strongly recommend that you do the Yacht Crew Course if you have learned to sail some time ago and or if you come from dinghy sailing. Yachts and Multihulls require similar skills, and the Inshore Skipper 10 day course requires that you know how to sail in all directions, that you can reef, heave to, moor a yacht, come alongside and anchor. The 10 days is spent learning navigation, meteorology, yacht management, engines, safety and a whole gamut of extra things which ensure you are a good learner skipper at course end. The Multihull course can be taken on a multihull throughout, but our strong recommendation is you complete the course on a range of vessels. The Zero to Hero Course includes all the above courses but also a 4 day Yacht Crew Course and is exceptionally well priced!
Sail in Asia believe in giving you skills, knowledge, sail training and most important the language to direct the crew in boat handling and to keep the crew safe! Making you autonomous is our aim! Ensuring you are confident is our objective. Having fun on the course guarantees your enjoyment and ability to learn quickly. Learning the skills means happy sailors and well trained sailors! The ISSA Inshore Skipper Course is designed for Yachts, Multihulls and Keelboats. At SIA you will become proficient on Yachts, Keelboats and Multihulls. We have 12 vessels that fit these categories.
